We, Resurrection Power Ministries, affirm the following Tenets of Faith as our core, non-negotiable biblical beliefs. 1. The Scriptures We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final rule of faith and conduct for Resurrection Power Ministries and for every believer. 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105   2. The One True God We believe in one true and living God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things and the Sovereign Lord over heaven and earth. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14   3. The Deity and Lordship of Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord—the eternal Son of God—fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary and atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His soon return in power and glory. At Resurrection Power Ministries, we proclaim Jesus not only as Savior, but as Lord and King. John 1:1–14; Luke 1:26–35; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Philippians 2:9–11   4. The Fall and Sinfulness of Man We believe that mankind was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation through Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3 5. Salvation by Grace Through Faith We believe that salvation is the free gift of God, provided by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone. We believe in repentance from sin, confession of Jesus as Lord, and belief in His resurrection as the way to be born again. We affirm justification and sanctification as works of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; John 3:3–7; 2 Corinthians 5:17 6. The Holy Spirit and the Baptism in the Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every true believer, producing godly character and empowering them to live a holy life. We also believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience following salvation, promised to all believers, and evidenced by a life of power, boldness, and spiritual gifts, including speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. Resurrection Power Ministries is called to operate in the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit for witnessing, ministry, and daily living. Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1–4; Acts 2:38–39; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–237.   7. The Church and Its Mission We believe that the universal Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all born-again believers. Locally, Resurrection Power Ministries is called to impact Stockton and beyond with the power of God through evangelism, discipleship, prayer, worship, the teaching of the Word, and the demonstration of the Spirit. We commit to fulfilling the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment—making disciples and loving God and people. Matthew 16:18; Matthew 22:37–39; Matthew 28:19–20; Ephesians 1:22–23; Ephesians 4:11–13; John 20:21 8. Ordinances of the Church We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ gave His Church two primary ordinances to be practiced until He returns: 1. Water Baptism – by full immersion in water, in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, as an outward testimony of an inward work of salvation. 2. The Lord’s Supper (Communion) sacrifice, proclaiming His death until He comes. – received in remembrance of Christ’s Resurrection Power Ministries practices these ordinances in obedience to Christ’s command. Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:41; Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26   9. Divine Healing We believe that divine healing is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of believers today. We believe in praying for the sick, laying on of hands, and trusting God for miracles, signs, and wonders in the Name of Jesus. At Resurrection Power Ministries, we expect the Holy Spirit to move in power to heal and restore. Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:16–17; Mark 16:17–18; James 5:14–16   10. The Blessed Hope and Eternal Destiny We believe in the soon and literal return of our Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal separation from God for those who reject Christ. Therefore, Resurrection Power Ministries lives with urgency—preaching the gospel, making disciples, and preparing believers as citizens of heaven walking in holiness and dominion. 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Titus 2:13; Revelation 20:11–15; Matthew 25:31–46   11. The Sanctity of Human Life We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its stages, from conception to natural death. We affirm that every person, including the unborn, the elderly, the disabled, and the vulnerable, is precious before God and worthy of love, protection, and care. Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5   12. Marriage and Family We believe that God Himself instituted marriage and the family. Marriage is a holy covenant, established by God, and is defined in Scripture as the lifelong union of one man and one woman. Any other definition of marriage is contrary to the Word of God. We affirm that the family is a foundational institution of society, ordained by God for companionship, procreation, nurture, and discipleship. Genesis 2:18–24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:22–33   13. Sexual Purity We believe that God created human sexuality as a good and beautiful gift to be expressed only within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Any sexual activity, in thought, word, or deed, outside the biblical marriage covenant is sin according to Scripture. Resurrection Power Ministries calls believers to a life of purity, repentance, and obedience in all matters of sexuality. 1 Corinthians 6:18–20; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5; Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 5:27–28   14. Human Personhood and Biological Sex We believe that God intentionally and lovingly forms each person in the womb, and that biological sex is a gift from God and part of His good design. We affirm that each person’s biological sex is not accidental, but reflects God’s purpose for that individual. Psalm 139:13–16; Isaiah 45:9–12 15. Male and Female in the Image of God We believe that God created human beings as male and female, equal in value and dignity, yet distinct and complementary in role and design. These two genders, in alignment with their biological sex, together reflect the image of God. To be born biologically male is to be male; to be born biologically female is to be female. Any attempt to reject, alter, or redefine this God-given identity is contrary to His design and will. Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 5:1–2; Mark 10:6 16. Unity of the Body of Christ We believe that all true believers, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, or secondary differences, are one in Christ Jesus. Unity in the essential doctrines of the faith is vital, while diversity of gifts, callings, and expressions enriches the Body of Christ. We are called to walk in love, humility, and cooperation with other Bible-believing churches and ministries to build the Kingdom of God in harmony. John 17:20–23; Ephesians 4:3–6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27
